Texas requires that controlled substances be
written on an official prescription, issued by
the state, pre-printed with the provider's name
and DEA number. AmigoDoc is now
programmed to handle these special official
prescriptions.
When the program encounters a medication that
has been flagged as requiring the official
prescription, AmigoDoc will prompt the user to
manually insert the pre-printed official
prescription in the printer. The printed output
will then be formatted for the Texas Official
prescription:
Doctor's phone # at upper right
Patient's Name
Patient's Street Address
Patient's Age and Today's Date
The 'body' of the prescription is printed
unchanged.
The changes for Texas occur only in the manner in
which the prescription is printed. The
database storage, prescription monitoring,
graphic displays, reports, etc. remain the same.
